Organizations tend to optimize what they can see.

Jerry Z. MullerThe Tyranny of Metrics, 2018

In a rewrite proposal that assumes the ending is known, the room keeps asking for one more datapoint, as if it will remove responsibility. Meanwhile the calendar keeps committing you.

Indecision is rarely neutral. It shifts the decision to the calendar, to the loudest stakeholder, or to the person who is least able to say no. The team feels motion, but nobody owns the boundary. Clarity is not certainty; it is a small commitment the team can execute without reopening the decision at every update.

State the win you are buying and the cost you are taking on, so it cannot hide inside execution. That is how you turn stress into clarity instead of theater. Save it where decisions live.
